His second and last album for RCA “Sangre Latina” came out in 1986 and paved the way for the string of successes he would release through Sony Music.Ĭhayanne’s first release through the label (which was his self-titled studio album) came out in 1987 to massive commercial success. He signed with RCA Records in 1984 and released his studio debut “Es mi Nombre” later that year. Sporting influences like Marco Antonio Solis, Miguel Bose, and Ana Gabriel, Chayanne honed in on an airy romantic aurora that sizzled with exciting flavors of sound and unpredictable rhythmic swings. Los Chicos broke up in 1984, allowing Chayanne to enter the music industry as a solo artist. They rose to large scale popularity in the early 80s, making a strong break into the markets (particularly in Puerto Rico, South America and Central America). The band was formed in 1978 and also featured the successful Latin singer Giro Lopez. Later on he joined one of the group’s contenders “Los Chicos”. He started pursuing music professionally before his 13th birthday, first seeking a position in the teen pop group Menundo however, he was turned down by the producers due to his young age.
